Desserts: Sugar Cookies

This recipe originally appeared on FoodNetwork.

  • 3 c AP flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 c unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk

Make dough using creaming method. Beat dough in stand mixer until it pulls away from the sides.

Chill dough in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Preheat over to 375 °F.

Roll out dough to 1/4 in thick. Use confectioner’s sugar to keep dough from sticking, not flour. Work with small sections of dough, keeping the unused dough in the fridge.

Bake for 8-9 minutes. If you baking two trays, it might be 10 minutes. Let cool on cookie sheet before trying to remove.
