Desserts: Chocolate Toffee Matzo Crack

  • 4-5 pieces matzos
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 c dark brown sugar
  • 12 oz chocolate chips
  • topping (nuts or sea salt)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Cover baking sheet with a layer of matzo.

In a small saucepan, whisk together butter and brown sugar to make toffee. The toffee should be foamy and thick. Immediately pour toffee over matzo.

Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes.

While still hot, spread chocolate chips over the top into an even layer.

Sprinkle with your favorite topping. Sea salt, pecans, walnuts, etc.

Refrigerate for 45 minutes.
